COX DAIRY CATTLE, INC.
About Our Business

In 1953 Lewis Cox bought the first 84 acres that we own
today. He started with  grade B milk cows and beef cattle.
In 1968 Gerald Cox, the son of Lewis built a grade A dairy
barn. He also built custom homes on the side for extra income.
In 1980 Gerald Cox's son, Derrell Cox, bought 70 dairy heifers
and formed a partnership. Gerald and Derrell bought and sold
some dairy cattle during this time. Derrell broke horses for the
public, milked cows and did carpenter work on the side.
In 1994 Derrell seen that the dairy had to grow so he put all
his time into the dairy and the cattle business. He sold all
horses that he owned by 1996.
In 1995 Derrell started buying and selling dairy heifers. The
first 100 head he bought lost $400 per head because feed cost
went to a high and cattle prices went low.
He kept buying and learned over the years you win some and
you lose some. The trading got bigger and bigger from 1998 to
now.
Derrell states " We have a lot of good people to work with and
we really enjoy what we do. We buy from good, honest people
and sell cattle to growing businesses all over the country!"
Derrell has been in the dariy business for years, so he knows
how important your business is to you. He strives to provide you
with the best cattle in the country so you can grow your
business.
We keep 400 to 500 cattle on our property at all times for you
to choose from. We carry mostly holstein, cross-bred, and
some jerseys.  We buy and sell open heifers, short bred
heifers, fresh heifers, and springer heifers.

We have many employees on staff who take the best care of
our cattle as soon as they arrive on our property. The cattle
are wormed and
vaccinated as soon as they arrive.
